Frequently asked questions

About Tradeizi

What is Tradeizi?

Tradeizi is a B2B closed-auction platform for Iberian agricultural commodities (olive oil, wine, almonds, cork), connecting verified producers and buyers in Portugal, Spain, Italy and the rest of the EU. We run a simple commission model: listing is free, you only pay when a lot closes.

Who is behind Tradeizi?

Tradeizi is a Portuguese platform. The team has backgrounds in Economics and Business Management with direct experience in agricultural markets. The project was born from first-hand observation of how much value intermediaries capture in the Iberian olive oil market.

When does the platform launch?

The pilot with Iberian anchor producers starts in Summer 2026, with the first live auctions tracking the wine (September) and olive oil (Autumn) harvests. The public Iberian rollout is planned for the end of 2026. Register now to be notified — we guarantee priority access.

Verification and access

Who can use the platform?

B2B companies only: producers, cooperatives, bottlers, roasters, retail chains, distributors and importers. Everyone goes through automatic VIES verification (valid intra-EU VAT number) and a manual review before accessing the marketplace.

How long does verification take?

Up to 24 business hours under normal conditions. VIES verification is instant; the delay is usually our manual review, which confirms that the registration corresponds to a real operating business.

What if my country is not on the list?

We are launching with Portugal, Spain and Italy, then expanding across the EU. If you operate from another EU country you can still register — we will review on a case-by-case basis. For non-EU countries (Switzerland, UK, etc.), buyer access will be opened as volumes justify it.

Pricing and commissions

What is the commission?

The commission is 1.5% of the closed lot value, paid by the buyer. The producer receives 100% of the lot value — zero friction to list. No listing fees, no fixed quotas, no surprises: you only pay when the sale closes.

Is there a subscription?

Only for the Tradeizi Index (benchmarks and market reports). Buying and selling on the platform is free — there is only a commission at the moment of closing.

How are samples paid for?

Buyers only pay for sample shipping via Stripe (typically €15–40 depending on destination). The cost of the sample itself is absorbed by the producer as part of the commercial process — the modern equivalent of "sending a bottle by post".

The Tradeizi Index

What is the Tradeizi Index?

It is the first weekly price series for the Iberian olive oil and by-products market, calculated from real transactions closed on the platform. It publishes volume-weighted averages by country, commodity and quality tier, with a minimum of three observations per category to guarantee anonymity.

When does it launch?

The first publication is expected in Autumn 2026, after the first Iberian campaigns with validated transactions close. In the meantime, we publish quarterly editorial reports that serve as a bridge.

How much does a subscription cost?

The monthly subscription gives access to the full archive, premium quarterly reports, and detailed series by origin. Annual subscriptions come at a discount. Exact prices will be confirmed at the public launch.

Will my data appear in the Index?

Never in an identifiable way. The Index only publishes aggregates (volume-weighted average by country + commodity + quality tier) with a minimum of three observations per category. There is no way to reconstruct your transaction from the published data.

Contracts and payments

How does the contract work?

When an auction closes, the contract is automatically generated by the platform based on the lot data and the conditions accepted by both parties. It is signed electronically via Signaturit — with legal validity equivalent to a handwritten signature under the eIDAS Regulation.

How are payments made?

Direct SEPA transfer from the buyer to the producer, with a deadline defined in the contract (typically 15 to 45 days after delivery). Tradeizi monitors the process and issues the commission invoice to the producer once payment is confirmed.

What if there is a dispute?

The platform maintains a complete audit trail: sample request, analysis certificate, bids, signed contract, delivery confirmation, payment confirmation. In case of a dispute, Tradeizi mediates based on this record. When no agreement is reached, Portuguese law applies.

Security and privacy

Where is my data stored?

On Supabase servers (EU region) for application data, Stripe for payments, and Signaturit for signed contracts. All subcontractors are listed in the privacy policy and are under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, at any time. There is a 10-year retention period for tax and contractual data (required by Portuguese and EU tax legislation); account data, preferences and communications are deleted immediately.

Does Tradeizi share data with third parties?

We do not sell data and do not share individual information with competitors or commercial partners. The only third parties with access to data are the technical subcontractors who need it to provide the service (hosting, payments, email), listed in the privacy policy.
