Forage — in preparation

B2B auction for hay, alfalfa, straw and silage. We're mapping producers, regular buyers (breeders, stables, exporters) and transport partners now to size logistics.

Current state

Under mapping. SKUs already prepared (hay_grass, hay_alfalfa, hay_oat, silage_corn, silage_grass, straw). Deciding pilot Q3 or Q4 2026.

Why forage on Tradeizi

The Iberian forage market runs on WhatsApp + phone, with opaque pricing and transport eating 10–15% of lot value. A B2B auction with radius-based matching and integrated transport partners can reduce friction without reinventing the sector.

Forage shares the same infra as other Tradeizi commodities — VAT verification, direct SEPA, eIDAS contracts. The difference is logistics + geographic matching, where the platform grows first.

Logistics first

Transport is 10–15% of lot value, sometimes more. Not solving this would kill the marketplace.
Approach: radius matching (buyers within N km of producer) + regional carrier partnerships. Tradeizi negotiates rates, doesn't operate trucks.
Open decision: fold transport cost into the bid, or keep it separate and make it explicit in the contract.

How it will work

Producer verification (VAT + address + production type).
Lot published with cut, humidity, crude protein (where applicable), region and year.
Auction 48h–7d with anti-snipe.
Electronic contract + direct SEPA.
Optional carrier via partners; default radius 100km.

FAQ

When does it launch?

H2 2026 — Q3 or Q4 depending on mapped supply density. No firm date.

Does transport factor into the bid price?

Open decision. Options: (a) transport separate, producer EXW; (b) auction with fixed incoterm (DDP or CPT + radius); (c) split — bid first, quote after.

Commission?

Being defined. Reference: cork is 1.5% buyer-side. Forage may structure differently if transport is included.

Portugal only?

Starting with Portugal + Spain. Export to other EU destinations evaluated on demand.
